Law enforcement agencies, including the Financial Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime, reportedly conducted a series of raids across several locations on Tuesday. Among those allegedly detained is the former director of the Customs Administration, Stefan Bogoev.
While the Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that an operation is currently underway, they have refrained from providing specific details regarding the suspects involved or the nature of the charges. The investigation remains active.
Bogoev served as the director of the Customs Administration from 2023 until July 2024. During his tenure, he was a prominent figure in the government's efforts to modernize customs operations. Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the specific allegations of financial malfeasance currently being linked to his administration.
