Police officers in Debar apprehended a 29-year-old resident, identified only as A.L., following a series of serious violations on the evening of May 29, 2026.

The incident occurred on "Zekir Canka" Street when officers stopped the man for driving in an intoxicated state. Upon investigation, police discovered that A.L. had never passed a driving test and was operating a vehicle without a valid license.

An alcohol test revealed an alarming blood alcohol concentration of 2.75 per mille - more than three times the legal limit in North Macedonia. The suspect's impaired driving led to a traffic accident, further compounding his legal troubles.

When confronted by police, A.L. allegedly became aggressive and physically attacked the responding officers, which resulted in his immediate arrest. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has confirmed that the suspect has been taken into custody, and the vehicle has been removed from traffic.

Legal proceedings are now underway against A.L., who faces multiple charges including driving under the influence, driving without a license, causing an accident, and assaulting police officers. The case highlights the serious consequences of drunk driving and resistance to law enforcement.
