Former Minister of Health and current LDK parliamentary candidate, Ferid Agani, has issued a sharp critique of the current state of Kosovo's healthcare system, calling for deep-seated reforms and increased operational efficiency.

Speaking on the 'DPT te Fidani' program on Klan Kosova, Agani reflected on his previous tenure as Health Minister (2011–2014). He defended his record, highlighting the foundational work he oversaw, which included the establishment of the University Clinical Hospital Service of Kosovo (SHSKUK) and the formalization of the five Chambers of Health Professionals.

"I am speaking with responsibility because I have the institutional experience," Agani stated. He further noted that during his mandate, the Oncology Institute was made fully functional, providing essential services that were previously unavailable to the public.

Agani argued that despite these institutional foundations, the current sector is failing to meet the needs of citizens. He pledged that if elected, he would overhaul the system over two mandates.

His long-term vision is ambitious: he aims to turn Kosovo into a destination for medical tourism. Agani believes that with the right infrastructure, Kosovo could attract its own diaspora living in Western countries, who currently rely on foreign health systems despite their potential interest in local services.
