In a recent appearance on the Real Story program on ABC News, political figures Roland Bejko and Ibsen Elezi leveled heavy criticism against the current state of the Democratic Party of Albania (PD).

Roland Bejko stated that the party has lost its status as a "party of hope," arguing that it has been transformed into a personal instrument for Sali Berisha. According to Bejko, citizens have clearly recognized this shift, which he believes has alienated the electorate.

Ibsen Elezi echoed these sentiments, focusing on what he describes as the "absurd" and contradictory nature of Berisha’s leadership. Elezi argued that the party lacks a foundation of stable principles, which has led to a significant loss of public credibility.

Highlighting the inconsistency within the party, Elezi pointed to the shifting treatment of party members, such as Ervin Salianji, noting that the leadership lacks a "backbone." He concluded that this erratic behavior, combined with ambiguous stances on critical issues like property rights and foreign investments, has left the party in a state of deep confusion.
