The Hydrometeorological Service (UHMR) of North Macedonia issued an urgent warning this afternoon regarding a sudden shift in weather conditions across parts of the country.
According to the latest satellite imagery and meteorological data, a rapidly developing instability has triggered severe weather patterns. "Currently, there is an unstable cloud mass in the mountainous regions causing heavy rain, thunderstorms, and hail," the UHMR stated in their official alert.
Forecasters noted that the storm is not static and is currently moving in a west-to-east direction. Authorities are calling for increased vigilance from citizens, particularly those in mountainous areas and settlements directly in the path of the storm.
