Haxhi Avdyli, a former deputy of the Guxo List and a veteran member of the Parliamentary Committee on Health, has publicly challenged the latest claims from the acting Minister of Health, Arben Vitia.
Following Vitia's announcement that the Law on Compulsory Health Insurance has officially entered into force, Avdyli appeared on Klan Kosova to label the move as a "fraud."
"As the chair of the Health Committee and a long-standing member, I can say this is nothing but a deception, because we have had a Law on Health Insurance for more than a decade," Avdyli stated.
He argued that while the Health Insurance Fund formally exists, the actual provision of insurance services remains non-existent. Avdyli further suggested that the timing of the announcement is purely for electoral optics.
"The fund exists, but we have no insurance, and I believe this will be forgotten after the elections," he added, noting his own extensive efforts to reform the legal framework for health insurance in the past.
