Iran has officially suspended all indirect talks with the United States, according to reports from the Tasnim news agency. The decision follows claims that Israel has continued "atrocities" in Lebanon, which Tehran considers a direct violation of the existing ceasefire agreement.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated via social media that the ceasefire was comprehensive, covering all fronts including Lebanon. He emphasized that any breach on one front renders the entire agreement void.
"The violation of it on one front is a violation of the ceasefire on all fronts," Araghchi wrote on X. "The U.S. and Israel are responsible for the consequences of any violation."
The suspension marks a significant setback in diplomatic efforts to extend the ceasefire and reach a permanent end to the ongoing hostilities. Both parties remain far apart on key terms, leaving the regional security situation in a state of heightened uncertainty.
