Artin Islami and Feuzi Xhaferi have cleared a significant hurdle in their bid to join the North Macedonian Judicial Council after receiving unanimous support from the Parliamentary Committee on Elections and Appointments.

The committee voted 7-0 in favor of the two candidates, who were formally proposed by MP Bekim Qoku of the VLEN coalition. Qoku emphasized that their professional backgrounds are expected to play a vital role in restoring public confidence in the judicial institution.

This selection process marks the third attempt by the legislature to appoint members to the council. The two successful candidates were chosen from a pool of seven applicants.

The five candidates who did not pass the committee's vetting process include Sabedin Dauti, Shpresa Dauti, Elvir Iseini, Fatmir Emrullai, and Fadil Xhelili.

The nominations now proceed to a plenary session of the Parliament, where they must receive final approval to take effect.
