Children from across Kosovo gathered in Pristina this morning to mark the beginning of Olympic Week, a nationwide initiative designed to promote sports and physical health.

Organized by the Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOK), the event seeks to encourage youth to step away from digital devices and embrace active lifestyles. KOK President Ismet Krasniqi confirmed that similar activities are currently being held in 26 municipalities throughout the country, emphasizing that the primary goal is the long-term development of the younger generation.

Beyond current youth engagement, the committee is also focusing on future milestones. Officials highlighted ongoing preparations for the 2030 Mediterranean Games, for which Pristina has been selected as the official host city.

As the host, the capital city is set to be the centerpiece of the event, with the opening ceremony scheduled to take place in Pristina. This historic event is viewed as a major developmental opportunity for the nation's sports infrastructure.
