A somber atmosphere has descended upon the coastal town of Shëngjin, Albania, following a fatal incident on Wednesday afternoon, June 3, 2026. Authorities have confirmed the identities of the victims, both of whom were young citizens from Kosovo.

Official reports indicate that the two deceased individuals have been identified as L. Alia and J. Binaku. Alongside the deceased, three other individuals—identified as D. Myftari, A. Beqaj, and D. Rrustemi—were also involved in the incident.

Official Response
The tragedy has prompted an outpouring of grief and formal condolences from state officials. The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, issued a statement shortly after the incident, expressing his deepest sympathies to the families of the victims and wishing the survivors a swift recovery.
"I express my sincerest condolences to the families and relatives of the victims. I pray for the strength of their loved ones during this difficult time and hope for a full and speedy recovery for the injured," the President stated in his official address.
Local law enforcement in Lezhë continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident in the Rana e Hedhur area, as the community reflects on the sudden loss of life at the start of the summer season.
